NEW DELHI: Petitioning EC, Congress Monday demanded that the poll watchdog initiate action against PM Modi for saying that its manifesto bears the stamp of Muslim League. The party said Modi was rattled by the enthusiastic response generated by Congress’s ‘Nyay Patra’ and was falling back on the “stale” Hindu-Muslim playbook to divert people’s attention.
A Congress delegation of Salman Khurshid, Mukul Wasnik, Pawan Khera and Gurdeep Sappal met the EC, and protested the PM’s statement.Khurshid urged EC to take action against Modi, with spokesman Jairam Ramesh stating that it was time for the poll watchdog to demonstrate its neutrality.
