NEW DELHI: The Enforcement Directorate on Tuesday conducted fresh searches at five locations in Ranchi and recovered Rs.1.5 crore from Rajiv Kumar Singh.
The central probing agency swooped different locations of the city in continuation of raids conducted a day before.
According to the officials, the unaccounted money was recovered from Rajiv Kumar Singh, a contractor, through whom more than Rs 10 crore routed.
Meanwhile, Jharkhand rural development minister and Congress MLA Alamgir Alam’s personal secretary Sanjiv Lal and his domestic help were sent to ED remand for 6 days after the central agency recovered over Rs 32 crore ‘unaccounted’ cash from them.
Lal and his domestic help were apprehended by the agency under provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) following their overnight questioning, PTI reported citing sources.
