BHOPAL: A single-judge bench of the Madhya Pradesh high court on Friday sentenced two IAS officers to seven days of simple imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs 2,000 on each of them in a contempt petition filed against both. However, a division bench headed by chief justice RV Malimath later stayed the operation of the order in a relief to Shailendra Singh, former collector of Chhatarpur, and Amar Bahadur Singh, former additional collector and CEO of Chhatarpur zila panchayat.
Shailendra and Amar had appeared in the court of Justice GS Ahluwalia and tendered an apology on Thursday.
