A 47-year-old data analyst from Andhra Pradesh was killed when he was hit by a bus at Boston’s Logan airport on March 28. Vishachand Kolla is survived by his wife, Soujanya, and two sons. The accident took place after he had parked his car and was waiting — outside the car, on the driver’s side — for a friend.
As per local reports, the bus struck Kolla and dragged him for a bit. An off-duty nurse tried to save him, along with responding personnel from the local fire department and Boston emergency services. But, Kolla died before he could be shifted to a hospital. A 54-year-old woman was driving the bus. She was not hurt and was interviewed by investigators later. Local media reported that she has not been charged at this point in the investigation.
Born in Repalle, Guntur, in 1976, Kolla had moved to the US in 1997. According to an obituary published in Cremation Society of New Hampshire, Kolla was a philanthropist who put others before himself. He was a deeply spiritual person. Kolla most recently worked at Takeda as a data analytics director.
