NEW DELHI: Karnataka may be headed for yet another hung assembly with most of the exit polls predicting a neck-and-neck race between the BJP and the Congress.
If the exit poll predictions prove true, the Janata Dal (Secular) of Deve Gowda and H D Kumaraswamy could end up playing the kingmaker once again in the 224-member assembly.
However, three exit polls have predicted simple majority for the two main contenders – the BJP and the Congress. While CGS has predicted a clear BJP victory, the Times Now-ETG and the CNX say the Congress will cross the halfway mark.
Here’s what the different pollsters have predicted:
The P-Marq exit poll predicts 85-100 seats for the BJP with a vote share of 36%, while the Congress may win 94-108 seats with 40% of vote share. However, it will be the JD(S) with 24-32 seats that could decide who forms the next government in the state.
The Pollstrat predicts 88-98 seats for the BJP and 99-109 seats for the Congress. The JD(S) may win 21-26 seats and play a decisive role again, the prediction says.
Matrize Agency predicts 103-118 seats for the Congress, 79-94 seats for the BJP and 25-33 seats for the JD(S).
Jan Ki Baat predicts 94-117 seats for the BJP, 91-106 for the Congress and 14-24 for the JD(S).
The Times Now-ETG exit poll says the Congress is likely to win 113 seats and the BJP 85.
The CNX predicts 115 seats for the Congress and 85 for the BJP. The JD(S) is likely to win 22 seats.
The CGS exit poll survey predicts simple majority for the BJP with 114 seats. The Congress may win 86 seats and the JD(S) 21 seats.
C-Voter predicts 66-86 seats for the BJP and 81-101 seats for the Congress. The JD(S) may end up winning 20-27 seats.
