NEW DELHI: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge during a march of INDIA alliance’s MPs from Parliament House to Vijay Chowk, accused BJP of intentionally disrupting the parliamentary proceedings.
The march was organised to address the suspension of 143 Members of Parliaments in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
Kharge stated, “Purposefully, the ruling party people are disrupting the proceedings of the house.125 to 130 BJP MPs in Rajya Sabha stood up and were raising slogans against 10 people. It happened for the first time that a parliamentary affairs minister was giving a speech and 125 to 130 people were raising slogans.”
He further added, “the protest is against the government; PM Modi and even the chief of the house do not want the house to run. By raising an issue, they tried to bring in casteism. We are elected people and in democracy, it’s our right and duty to raise our people’s voice and that is what we are doing.”
Kharge then targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and home minister Amit Shah over Parliament security breach. He said, We just want to know the details of parliament security breach, how it happened and who is responsible for it. But it’s unfortunate that neither Amit Shah made a statement neither the PM. Instead of talking in parliament, he talks in Varanasi, Ahmedabad and on TV.”
Congress president further told that the INDIA bloc members will to conduct a protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on Friday.
