A court in Sunam sentenced Punjab cabinet minister Aman Arora, his mother and seven others to two years’ imprisonment in a family dispute case.
They were also sentenced to a year in jail under various IPC sections. The two terms are to run concurrently. Arora said that he would appeal the decision in a higher court.
“Distressed that my 85-year-old mother has also been sentenced,” he added.Arora’s brother-in-law, a SAD (B) leader, had accused him, his mother and others of trespassing into his house and assaulting him in March 2008.
