BJP-led NDA’s presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to visit Ranchi on Monday, July 4. Droupadi Murmu will meet leaders of all parties to garner support. The Presidential election will be held on July 18.
She is also likely to meet Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) chief Shibu Soren, Chief Minister Hemant Soren and other top Congress leaders like Rameshwar Oran. A few leaders of Congress have also dropped hints to support Droupadi Murmu.
DROUPADI MURMU TO VISIT BJP HEADQUARTERS
Murmu, who was the former governor of Jharkhand, is also slated to visit the headquarters of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of the state in Ranchi.
The value of votes of MPs in Jharkhand is 700 and that of MLAs stands at 176. In the 81-member Jharkhand Assembly, there are 14 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state barring one seat each to Congress, JMM and All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU). The BJP had won 11 Lok Sabha seats in Jharkhand. Among six Rajyasabha MPs, two are from the JMM, one from Congress and the rest three are from the BJP.
Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to visit Tripura on July 5 to garner support for her candidature. Tripura Assembly Speaker Ratan Chakraborty said, “Droupadi Murmu is arriving here on July 5 as part of the campaign. She will have a meeting with MPs and MLAs of the state at a hotel here.”
