A new CCTV video has surfaced in the Kanhaiya Lal murder case. According to the video, a person wearing a helmet visited a petrol pump on Ajmer highway on the bike used in the crime to get the vehicle’s tank refilled.
This happened after the two main accused, Mohammad Ghaus and Riyaz, returned after committing the crime. First, they went to SK Engineering Workshop where they shot a video of themselves claiming responsibility for the gruesome act. Then they went to a welding shop, owned by one Amjad, near Ajmer highway to change clothes. Meanwhile, a person took their bike to the petrol pump to get the tank refilled. The CCTV footage shows the man wearing a helmet entering the petrol pump at 4.11 pm.
After the man returned, both accused left the welding shop on the same bike.
While taking forward the probe, an NIA team reached the petrol pump and checked the CCTV. Meanwhile, the police have started a probe around Amjad’s shop. Neighbours said that the shop has been shut since June 28.
Lal was killed with a cleaver inside his tailoring shop on June 28. The gruesome attack by Riaz Akhtari on the tailor was recorded on a phone by Ghouse Mohammad, and it was posted online. They said in a video later that they hacked Lal to death to avenge an alleged insult to Islam.
