JAMMU: A week after the arrest of a Pakistani intruder by the Army from near the Line of Control (LoC) in Naushera Sector, another intruder was held along the International Border in the RS Pura Sector in Jammu district by the Border Security Force (BSF) early on Saturday.
The apprehended Pakistani national was identified as Mohammad Shabad (45) of Sialkot. A BSF spokesperson said that jawans noticed an intruder trying to sneak into Arnia village in the RS Pura Sector from across the border and fired a few shots after he did not pay any heed to their warnings. On hearing gunshots, he hid behind the border gate, but troops opened the gate and caught him.
On August 25, BSF had foiled a major smuggling attempt when its troops seized 8kg of heroin from a Pakistani intruder in J&K’s Samba district. The intruder was shot at and injured, but he managed to crawl back to the Pakistani side.
The Army has already foiled three infiltration bids by terrorists along the LoC since August 24.
