TIRUPATI: Puthalapattu YSRCP MLA MS Babu expressed his extreme displeasure and heartburn amidst reports of his imminent replacement in the ensuing general elections.
Addressing a press conference in Chittoor district on Tuesday, MS Babu said that during his recent meeting with Chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the latter dropped hints that he might be replaced since there was anti incumbency against him.
“I told the CM that he could speak to other leaders in the constituency regarding my performance in the last five years. I have performed all the tasks given to me from time to time by the party leadership and the state government. And yet if there is still anti incumbency, then the party leadership should introspect about whose fault it is”, MS Babu lamented.
MS Babu also questioned the party leadership’s rationale in replacing MLAs only in reserved constituencies. “The leaders from the upper castes are being re-fielded despite their poor performances and severe anti public mood. Why this preferential treatment to the OC leaders while the SC MLAs are being shown no mercy at all and are being replaced arbitrarily”, the ruling party legislator wondered.
The Puthalapattu legislator also levelled allegations against the I-PAC survey on ruling party MLAs and said these surveys are easily manipulated by such legislators who have the money-might.
