NEW DELHI: West Bengal chief minister and Trinamool chief Mamta Banerjee on Friday slammed the BJP over expulsion of her party leader Mahua Moitra and called it “vendetta politics”.
“They have killed democracy. Within half an hour they finished the discussion on 495 pages of the report and took a decision. They did not allow the victim to take a stand for her self-defence.This is unfortunate and unacceptable. It is injustice. Mahua will win the battle next,” Mamata said.
The West Bengal chief minister said that she will fight this politically and expressed confidence that people will give a befitting reply to the BJP.
‘Mahua victim of circumstances’
Mamata Banerjee backed Mahua Moitra and called her a victim of circumstances. “I strongly condemn the expulsion. The party is totally behind her and our party will fight along with the INDIA bloc parties,” the West Bengal chief minister said.
Mamata Banerjee said the issue has once again opened our eyes about the vindictive politics of the BJP. “It’s unfortunate for the democracy,” she added.
