During an all-party meeting convened on Saturday to address the ongoing situation in Manipur, Home Minister Amit Shah conveyed that all necessary steps are being taken to restore peace in the state under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Following the meeting, BJP’s Manipur in-charge Sambit Patra informed reporters that Shah emphasized the continuous communication between himself and Prime Minister Modi regarding the situation, ensuring that not a single day has passed without discussion or instructions. Opposition parties have criticized the government’s handling of the Manipur situation, particularly highlighting the perceived “silence” of the prime minister on the matter. The ethnic violence in the state has resulted in the loss of nearly 120 lives and over 3,000 injuries.
