Police on Monday detained workers of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike who were protesting over Amul’s entry into the state. The workers are protesting to oppose the sale of Amul milk in the state and encourage Nandini products. In the ongoing row over new entrant in Karnataka’s milk market, a political war of words erupted between the BJP and opposition parties including Congress and JD(s). Amul, India’s largest milk co-operative, announced the entry into Bengaluru in a Tweet on Wednesday. After the announcement, many showed support to state’s indegenous and india’s second largest co-operative Nandini Milk.
