Bharatiya Janata Party MP Nishikant Dubey on August 24 called a matter of joy for his party after it emerged that the Election Commission of India has recommended the disqualification of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren as an MLA in connection with the illegal mining case.He said, “All the journalists have told me that he (Jharkhand CM) has lost his membership. That had been recommended to the Governor by the EC. As a BJP worker, it’s a matter of joy because it’s the BJP that had complained to the Governor. Legal proceedings were going on. It is the day to celebrate.”“Hemant Soren (Jharkhand CM) should head towards mid-term polls, on moral grounds. Assembly should be dissolved and there should be elections in all 81 Assembly constituencies. BJP has been demanding this,” he added. Notably, The Election Commission of India recommended the disqualification of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren for allegedly extending a mining lease to himself, which is reportedly a violation of the “electoral law”.
