Preparations for the G20 Summit is on full swing at Pragati Maidan. The Convention Centre at Pragati Maidan is scheduled to host the main G20 summit meet along with other events. The Convention Centre is likely to be one of the largest in the country with a combined capacity to accommodate 13,500 people. Its amphitheatre will have the largest single-gathering spaces with a seating capacity of 3000. The plenary hall and multifunction hall will have a capacity of 3000 and 4000 respectively. PWD planning to build a new road for VIP access to Delhi’s Pragati Maidan for the G20 summit. The beautification work is on at Pragati Maidan gate number 6, it is likely to be the main entrance for dignitaries. Steel sculptures and horticulture work are being installed at the entrance. India took over the presidency of the G20 in November last year. India will be hosting several meetings and the main summit.
