In a triple murder case that rocked Assam’s Golahat town on July 24, where a man allegedly killed his wife, father-in-law, and mother-in-law, the victims were identified as Sanjib Ghosh, his wife Junu Ghosh, and the accused person’s wife Sanghamitra Ghosh. The accused was identified as Nazibur Rahman. He surrendered before the police. His nine-month-old child was with him during his surrender. On July 26, the Assam Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma met the family members of the victim’s family at their residence in Golaghat and assured punishment to the accused. He said, “In Assam, be it Nazibur Rahman or any other individual, we stand firm in our commitment that crime has no place in our state. Our resolve remains unwavering – no criminal shall escape justice.”
