In response to the Allahabad High Court’s notice to Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Akshay Kumar in the Gutkha Advertisement Case, advocate Moti Lal Yadav emphasized on December 10 that the court has instructed the Government of India to establish guidelines for revoking Padma awards. Yadav, who filed the petition, expressed concern over misleading advertisements, urging punitive actions against the actors and companies involved. The court’s directive extends to the Consumer Protection Authority of India, empowering them to take appropriate measures against both endorsers and companies. Yadav emphasized the need for accountability and fines in addressing the alleged deceptive advertising practices.
