The Indian consulate in San Francisco was subjected to yet another attack as it was deliberately set on fire on July 2 by the Khalistani radicals. This incident follows an earlier act of vandalism by Khalistani supporters in March, which occurred when the Punjab police were conducting a significant crackdown against Amritpal Singh and his associates. A group of Khalistan radicals allegedly made an attempt to commit arson at the consulate. Fortunately, the San Francisco Fire Department swiftly intervened and managed to suppress the fire, resulting in no major damages. Thanks to the prompt action taken by the fire department, none of the consulate staff members were harmed. Matthew Miller, the spokesperson for the US State Department, strongly condemned the vandalism and arson.
