Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Australian Minister for Education Jason Clare held the 1st Australia India Education and Skills Council (AIESC) meeting in Gandhinagar on November 06.On meeting with the Union minister Australian Minister for Education Jason Clare said, “…Today was an opportunity for the political leaders but also the university leaders and the vocational leaders to talk about the changes that we’re making in both countries and how we can work more closely together…450 agreements between our two universities, we’ll sign more today. We already run courses in Indian universities. Now, Australia can run campuses and educate more Indian students in India…Not everyone can come to Australia. What we talked about today is that international education is not a one-way street. You don’t have to come to Australia to get an Australian qualification. You can do it here in India.”The First Australia India Education and Skill Council (AIESC) meeting was held at IIT Gandhinagar in Gujarat. The AIESC, earlier the Australian India Education Council (AIEC), is a bi-national body established in 2011 to guide the strategic direction of the education, training, and research partnerships between the two countries. The scope of this forum was enhanced in alignment with the national priorities of both countries to bring focus on promoting internationalisation, two-way mobility, and collaboration in the domains of education as well as the skill ecosystem,
