A candle march was taken out in Dhangri village of Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir to protest against the terrorist attack that took place three months back. The one-km march from Dhangri chowk to Khalsa chowk was led by the family members of the deceased people with participants raising slogans in support of their demand for justice for the victims. Terrorists attacked Dhangri village on the outskirts of Rajouri town on January 1 and indiscriminately fired on villagers before fleeing. They left behind an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) which went off the next morning. While five persons were killed in the terrorist firing, two children lost their lives in the explosion. Village sarpanch Dheeraj Sharma, who participated in the candle march, said that even after three months, the government has failed to trace the terrorists. He added that they are organising a ‘Maha Panchayat’ in the village on Sunday to decide the future course of action. The families of those killed in the attack also participated in the candle march. They said that the government should find out the terrorists and those giving shelter to them as soon as possible and give them the strictest punishment. The investigation into the twin terror attack was handed over to the NIA.
