Providing an update on the Ludhiana encounter on November 30, Special DGP (Law and Order) Arpit Shukla disclosed that the two gangsters involved had a history of criminal activities. The Ludhiana Police received intelligence about the gang leaders hiding in the Sanewal area, prompting a raid by the CIA Ludhiana team. In the ensuing exchange of fire, both criminals were fatally shot in police retaliation, injuring an ASI. The deceased had a record of extortion, using threats to extract money. Recovered from the scene were two pistols, six cartridges, and two shells. Shukla noted their criminal operations spanning approximately four years.
