Bringing the accused to justice, the police arrested 10 poachers in connection to a forest guard’s murder case in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj. The murder took place on June 17, when the guard asked the poachers to leave the area, who were there for hunting. The poacher in response, opened fire at the team, during which the forester also met his demise, informed Mayurbhanj SP B Gangadhar. “We have arrested 10 poachers in connection with the murder of Forestor Mati Hansda, who was shot dead in Similipal Wildlife Sanctuary on June 17. We started an investigation based on the evidence. On June 17, the accused persons entered the forest land for the purpose of hunting. After the patrolling team spotted them and asked them to surrender, the poachers opened fire on the team during which the Forestor died,” the SP said.
