On December 16, a Nagar Kirtan procession marked the martyrdom day of the ninth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur, starting from Sri Akal Takht Sahib in Amritsar. The unique sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur, who laid down his life for another religion, was commemorated during the procession. The Nagar Kirtan featured Gatka performances illustrating the essence of this traditional martial art, with school students showcasing band performances.
