Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Chief Sharad Pawar on August 16 addressed a press conference in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra. He said that the role of the Bharatiya Janata Party and its allies is to maintain unity in the society but they are dividing people. Sharad Pawar said, “Two days ago in Sangola area of Solapur, at least 1,000 people stopped my car at various locations. In Pune, Satara and other places many party workers came to meet me. Yesterday I came to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Tomorrow, I will address a public meeting in Beed and return to Mumbai. “The power of the country is in the hands of the Bharatiya Janata Party and its allies. Their role is to maintain unity in society, but they are dividing people. There are many examples of how they (BJP) toppled state governments- like in Goa, Madhya Pradesh and also Maharashtra. Everyone has seen what happened after Uddhav Thackeray-led government was toppled in Maharashtra,” he added. He further said, “It was a family meeting with Ajit Pawar. I did not go to the media talking about the meeting.”
