CEO of Micron Technology Sanjay Mehrotra while addressing Semicon India 2023 event at Gandhinagar, Gujarat said Micron’s investment will strengthen indigenous capability in semiconductors and will help catalyse other investments in the sector. Further, he hailed Digital India and Make in India programs and termed them as truly transformative. He said, “Micron is committed to building a semiconductor assembly and test facility in Gujarat. We estimate that our project in Gujarat will create nearly 5,000 direct jobs and an additional 15,000 jobs in the community. We are hopeful that this investment will help catalyse other investments in the sector.” His remarks came while addressing the Semicon India 2023 conclave at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. He will also address the gathering on the occasion. The three-day conclave is being organised by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology to showcase India’s semiconductor strategy and development in the field of semiconductors.
