Amid the tussle between the Kerala government and state Governor Arif Mohammad Khan over the recently tabled Kerala University Amendment Bill, the Kerala Governor on August 24 in Thiruvananthapuram, said that he will not allow Vice-Chancellors to appoint people close of those in power. “Responsible for the duties placed on me. I will see that the spirit of the law is upheld. Candidate with less marks is being considered as a nominee for being close to people in power. I have no business to find fault with the Assembly. I have a duty to see whatever they do which comes to me is constitutional. I shall try to do my duty in the most diligent manner. I will see the whole thing from the angle of the law,” the Kerala Governor said.
