For the third consecutive day, rescue operations persist in evacuating 40 workers trapped inside a collapsed under-construction tunnel between Silkyara and Dandalgaon. Trucks carrying 900 mm diameter pipes arrived at Silkyara overnight. The incident occurred on November 12, with ongoing efforts to clear approximately 35 meters of debris obstructing access to the trapped workers. Mohsen Shahidi, DIG of NDRF, reported on the collaborative rescue mission involving NDRF, SDRF, ITBP, and local authorities. The stranded workers, provided with essential supplies, await rescue as experts employ steel pipes to establish contact. The Brahmakhal-Yamunotri national highway tunnel construction remains a focal point of the extensive rescue endeavor.
