The national Youth Congress leadership has suspended Vivek H Nair, a state executive member, from the primary membership of the organisation for “unruly behaviour towards office bearers”.
This comes after a woman leader accused Vivek Nair of misbehaviour during the three-day-long Yuva Chintan Shivir at Kerala’s Palakkad. In a letter, she alleged that the state executive member in an inebriated state tried to abuse her sexually.
On Thursday, the national Youth Congress leadership suspended Nair from primary membership. However, in an official statement, it said the suspension was for flouting disciplinary guidelines despite repeated warnings.

“Your unruly behaviour towards a state vice president and other office bearers in the recently conducted Yuva Chintan Shivir in Palakkad cannot be tolerated. It has thereby been decided to suspend you from primary membership of the Indian Youth Congress,” the statement read.
The Youth Congress said they haven’t received any complaints from anybody regarding sexual abuse. Will support the victim if we receive a complaint, it said.
Incidentally, Vivek Nair was dismissed earlier for improper conduct and was reinducted recently.
