Amalaki Ekadasi Mantra
Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya Namah
ॐ नमो भगवते वासुदेवाय नमः
It is believed that by observing Amalaki Ekadasi, a devotee attains Moksha and washes away all the sins committed. Special pujas and offerings are made of Amalaki Tree and Lord Parashurama on the day.
Special Pujas On Amalaki Ekadashi
There is a belief that worshipping Amla tree and eating the fruit on the day will help in improving intelligence and wisdom.
Doing Parikrama or circumambulation of Awala tree is considered highly meritorious. Some devotees do 108 or 28 parikrama of the gooseberry tree.
Keeping a gooseberry covered with yellow cloth in safe or purse will help in overcoming debt and financial difficulties.
Donating Gooseberry helps in attaining moksha.
It is believed that those who plant gooseberry and take care of it will have their desires fulfilled.
Other Names and Different Observances On Amalaki Ekadashi
As this Ekadasi falls before Holi festival the day also forms part of Holi celebrations for some Hindu communities. Thus it is also known as Amla and Kunj Ekadasi. it is also known as Rangbhari Ekadasi.
It is also known as Sarbasammat Ekadashi in Orissa
