Lal Loi Festival Celebration in India
On the auspicious occasion of Lal Loi, children gather wood sticks from their grandparents and aunties, creating a vibrant atmosphere as they later ignite a festive bonfire at night. The revelry around the fire includes people enjoying, dancing, and engaging in playful activities.
The significance of Lal Loi lies in the belief that the festival serves as a means to part with old belongings, symbolizing a cleansing of the mind in preparation for the upcoming Tirmoor festival.
Tirmoor, the Sindhi equivalent of Makar Sankranti, is celebrated the day after Lal Loi and holds special significance for Sindhis, signifying the worship of Lord Sun and the traditional activity of flying kites.
