Sensex fell over 600 points while Nifty was down 150 points today. Financials faced the brunt of Bajaj Finance’s weak outlook amid mixed global market cues. Broader market indices also rose, outperforming benchmarks. Sensex closed at 73,730 while Nifty ended at 22,419.

On Nifty
Tech Mahindra, Divi’s Labs, LTIMindtree, Bajaj Auto were the top gainers of the day. Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, IndusInd Bank and Nestle India were the top losers.
In terms of volumes, Tata Steel, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Tech Mahindra, Power Grid, SBI, ITC, ICICI Bank were the most active stocks.
Sectors & global markets
The IT index rose about 0.3%. Global stocks were teetering on Friday towards their worst month since September, although futures markets predicted that strong tech earnings would spark a Wall Street relief rally later in the day that would help traders recoup some losses.MSCI’s broad index of global stocks was down 3.3% for the month, although 0.17% higher on the day.
Rupee
The Indian rupee closed little changed on Friday but logged its strongest week-on-week rise. The rupee closed at 83.34 against the U.S. dollar.
