Date and venue
The grand awards ceremony for the Filmfare Awards Assamese 2024 will be held on March 10, 2024, at Taj Vivanta in Guwahati, Assam. With the promise to spotlight the much-deserving talents from the Assamese film industry, the evening will honour the best actors, filmmakers, and storytellers.
Hosts
Actors Kopil Bora and Aimee Baruah will serve as hosts at the star-studded gala, ensuring an enthralling night. During the press conference, Kopil Bora shared, “Filmfare Assamese, an exclusively Assamese event, is a historic moment for me. It reminds me of that one saying by philosopher and reformist Padmanabhan Ramakrishnan: ‘When the flower blooms, the bees come uninvited.’ This magical flower is filmfare, and the bees are the audiences who are going to invest in Assamese cinema. It will bring a lot of glamour, importance, and honour to the entire film industry of the state.”
Performers
The exciting line-up of stars set to perform on the Filmfare Awards Assamese 2024 stage includes Jatin Bora, Nishita Goswami, Preety Kongana, Urmila Mahanta, Priyam Pallabee, Ranjit Gogoi, Gayatri Hazarika, and Dikshu Sarma.
Opening up about the historic move by Filmfare, Mr. Shankar Lall Goenka, MD, Jeewan Ram Mungi Devi Goenka Memorial Public Charitable Trust, said, “I am delighted and honoured to be associated with the prestigious Filmfare Awards Assamese, recognizing the remarkable talent in Assamese film industry. The iconic ‘Black Lady’ embodies prestige across India’s entertainment landscape and with this property, it is a dream come true moment for us to illuminate our rich cultural heritage and showcase the authenticity of our cinematic legacy.”
Mr. Partha Sarathi Nandy, MD, Lalbaba, added, “It is truly a moment of pride that Filmfare is honouring the Assamese cinema with Filmfare Awards Assamese 2024 and opening doors for us to take the Assamese culture to a grander level with this edition.
